I’m so excited! Relentless and The Black Mage both have their third book coming out tomorrow! YAY! There’s only one problem! What book do I read first?!?! I know there are other books coming out tonight that I’ll read next month or that I can wait for but these two are the ones I am most excited about. I’ve already reread both series this month along with Steel and Stone which is why I haven’t posted a lot this month been super busy getting ready for these great series new books!
As I sit here waiting for the hours to pass so I can get the next book I can’t help but think about which one I should read first. Just because I read one before the other doesn’t mean I don’t love the book more than the other but still breaks my heart a little. I’m sure all of book lovers understand what I’m saying. I’m sure my husband just thinks I’m crazy! (BTW: I hope he doesn’t realize I’m so going over my book budget this month! Shhhh you guys can keep a secret right?)
I’ve also had to face a new reality of my baby girl now walking so I no longer can stay up all night and read my book because I have to keep a closer eye on her to make sure she doesn’t get into anything (mostly my water I always have on the coffee table. As long as I shut all the door I can usually just let her run wild). I will say I do miss being able to stay up all night and read a book and then be able to reread the book during the day and not be too tired. Now if it’s after 1 am I’m usually passed out and I have to be if I’m going to be able to function in the morning.
Now, that I have that little rant out of the way I’m sure you’re wonder which book it is that I’m going to read first. Well here are my deciding factors. I’ve been reading the Relentless series since the beginning and I’ve been wait for Rogue since the last book came out in what was it December last year. I just started reading the Black Mage series this summer, but the books are so good and I can’t wait to read more and Rachel E. Carter’s writing is so wonderful.
So my deciding factor is that I’ve already Preorder Rogue so I’ll read that one first! I’ve also already read the first three chapter for free if you get a sample on the iBook. I don’t personally use the iBook but I did just for this book but preordered it on my kindle.
Tell me how you choose between two books you love!
Until Next time! Read on and enjoy!
At The Corner of Magnetic and Main by Meg Welch Dendler
Penny knows that a scoop of your favorite ice cream fixes just about any problem you might have! Your day is always better while eating your favorite flavor of ice cream even if you’re dead!
Penny is a ghost who died back in the 50’s when she was 17. Since that day she’s been in haunting a diner severing ice cream to ghost on their way to passing over. Penny’s smiling face and bright green eyes are the last thing people before they go off into the light. Penny thinks she has missed her chance but is okay with that because she’s happy where she is. Where people dead and alive need her.
Jake is a rebel without a cause. He dies after a motorcycle accident and ends up in the diner staring into Penny’s pretty eyes eating the chocolate ice cream she severed him but when he feels the light start to come for him he shuts it down not ready to leave. Now he’s stuck here with the living in Penny’s town and causing all sorts of problems in the town and that’s not all he might even but causing dear little Penny’s heart some problems too.
Jake turns Penny’s afterlife upside down trying to get her to live a little even though she keeps reminding her they aren’t alive. Jake is determined to get Penny out of that dinner and go on a trip with him out to explore, but that’s not what Penny wants or needs but it might just help open her eyes to what she does need. Penny’s heat is so big and she thinks she needs to be around to help take care of everyone else but she needs to realize that she needs to start thinking and caring about herself now.
This book isn’t what I expected but I absolutely loved it! Meg Welch Dendler’s writing is wonderful. At The Corner of Magnetic and Main is a book that will make you think and feel so many different emotions. This isn’t a book for light reading! You’ll connect with this book and Penny. You will rejoice at the end when Penny finally lets go of all her responsibilities and finally gets the ending she deserves… or maybe the new beginning she deserves!
I give this book 4 stars and one thumbs up! It’s a great read and I know you’ll all enjoy it.
Until Next Time! Read on and Enjoy!

Until Next Time! Write on and Enjoy!
Okay, today I want to talk about a very serious problem. It’s a problem all of us book lover come to eventually. It’s the Book Hangover. Right now I am strangling with a book hangover myself. I just can’t get into another book right now because I’m still trapped in the last book I read. This isn’t the first time I felt this way with this book series either. I picked up the first book 13 Little Blue Envelopes from my local library when I was a sophomore in high school. I know I read it then because it had snowed a lot and I remember hiding out in my room on a snow day reading it huddle under my covers. I feel in love with the adventure I took was Ginny in Keith throughout the book and read it over and over. I was so upset and sad when there wasn’t another book. Well a few months ago the book shows up in a book email and it’s on sale! the joy I felt when I bought and read it again! It was just as good as I remembered and then it got better! There’s a second book! It came out in 2011! no wonder why I didn’t know that’s the year I graduated and I stopped going to the library because I was mad at them for not letting me get on the computer to check my email because is was only 18 and in Nebraska you aren’t consider an adult until you’re 19, you need your parents to sign the paper. My mother had signed this paper when I was 13 but apparently they had to change the form and everyone had to sign new ones. I just had to find this out when I had important college stuff to do which involved my email and the power was out on my block do to so construction they were doing around where I lived. I was outraged that the librarians who know me and my mother wouldn’t let me take the form to my mom and bring it back. They said she has to come down here in sign it in front of them. I yelled (yes I know in a library) So I can vote at 18 but I can’t use a flipping computer at a library! I went off on her. I was so mad I didn’t walk back in there for years. Mostly because that’s when I got my kindle so I didn’t need to go back.
But since I hadn’t go back I never knew that another book had come out! Well like most book lovers we would want an unlimited book budget well we can’t! So I could just buy the next book I had to wait because there were other books I had preordered that were included in my book budget and then didn’t have enough for it. Lucky me I finally got a library card for the town and state I live in now! So they borrowed The next book The Last Little Blue Envelope by Maureen Johnson and I finally got to finish this adventure and I don’t want to get off! I want more! I want another book about where she goes to college and what happens to her and Oliver. Yes, I’m creative and can just image it myself but I want another book! I feel myself wallowing around the house and only being able to be cheered up by my lovely and amazing baby girl. But after she goes to bed I’m just replaying the adventures of both books over and over in my head and sighing… a lot.
Book Hangovers are horrible and there’s not much we can do about them. You can’t eat a greasy meal from waffle house to cure this… not that it really helps with the other either. I just needed to address this problem that I’m sure all of my amazing readers and followers have been through. Please feel free to share about your book hangovers in the comments below.
Until next time! Read on and enjoy (hopefully hangover free)!
It’s Writing Prompt Wednesday! Now I don’t know about you but it’s starting get cold here. It’s one of those things you love to hate about fall. Where one day its nice and you can wear shorts but the next you have to wear jeans and a jacket. You are always having to check the weather to see what it’s going to be like that day because you count on it to stay the same for one whole week it’s constantly changing. Now, if it’s one of those cold days for you how about you get yourself a nice big cup of your favorite coffee or tea because you’re going to need to get your blood flowing before you grab your trusty pen and start writing. Go on I’ll wait right here!
Now that you have your coffee (or tea) and your blood and creative juices are flowing here is your writing prompt!
It was an impulse buy…
Now, I don’t know about you but when I read this I image my character sitting in a room chatting with someone when they happen to plot at an object behind them in the room. She turns and looks at the object and answers ruefully that it was an impulse buy and when she turns around she immediately changes the subject so she no longer has to explain it. then later on in the story she explains what the item is and the significances it had to the story and or the plot of the book. But that’s just me and how I see it panning out. Of course there are a million things you can do with this prompt so grab that pen or whatever you write with and just let it flow our you! See what amazing writing you can come up with and I would just love to read what you come up with so please leave it below in the comments.
Until next time! Write on and enjoy!
Bay Winchester is a small town girl who runs the towns weekly newspaper which is mainly for the tourist of their newly rebranded witch town. The thing is this town does have a local coven of witches and it just so happens to be Bay’s. Not much happens in this Hemlock Cove So Bay mostly reports on the events and happenings going on around town. Bay was just downtown to report on the corn maze that opens that day when they find a body. Now, there’s a murder on the lose and Bay and her witchy cousins Clove and Thistle are determined to figure out this mystery and help the ghost of the boy who’s body was found. If only the hot and mysterious biker guy (who may be a drug dealer and murder) would stay out of her and stop showing up wherever she is. When she realizes that a similar murder happened years ago Bay is even more confused about how it could be the same killer. Then there’s aunt Tillie who is always causing trouble and cursing the girls Bay just can’t get a break anywhere!
I LOVE THIS BOOK! If you need a good laugh this is without a doubt the book for you! It is so funny I couldn’t stop laughing. Aunt Tillie with her spunky attitude and her crazy cruses just make the book! She reminds me of my grandma Tina (God Bless you Grandma) I’m just thankful my grandma couldn’t cruse me not that she would do anything like aunt Tillie does at least not to me that is. People who ticked her beware.
I can’t pick a favorite part of this book because I have way too many. I will say I loved the chapter when the girls decided to sneak into the corn maze at night to see if they can find a ghost. They go all out in black and even paint their faces! You can’t help but laugh while you read this book. The ending is great! Their outfits will crack you up! I could picture it in my head, so funny.
This book is a scream! I read the first 3 books of this series in two days that’s how good these books are! I can’t wait for more!
I rate this book a 5 stars! *****
Until next time! Read on and enjoy!

Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin
Tessa’s life has never been easy. Going through life having visions whenever she touches something your someone can be very hard and difficult. Now that her dad got a new job they’re moving from California to Texas. Starting a new school is always hard but with her visions if just makes everything harder even with wearing her gloves. The only thing good about it is the mysterious Dastien shows up. After flirting a couple time one kiss from him changes her life forever. Tessa wakes up in a strange place full of werewolves and told she is one of them and that she can’t leave until she has control over her wolf. the thing is she doesn’t want to be a wolf. Throw in that she’s a witch from a powerful coven that is angry that she was turn, that her visions don’t happen like they use to and then there’s Imogene a wolf who stakes claim on Dastien and seems to want to make Tessa’s life hell. But Tessa’s not alone and has friends in some wolfs, Meredith, Chris, and Adrian, and her brother is always there for her, and of course Dastien who got her into this mess in the first place. And if that’s not enough it there are vampires attacking the school and they need to find out who is helping them.
This is a page turner! There’s so much action and question that you’re wondering about as you read and it is sure to keep you on your toes. At first I was really confused about Dastien’s and Tessa’s relationship after she was turned because he kept his distance and ugh Imogene! If I was Tessa I would have slapped her, although since werewolves are really strong and she probably has the right idea with the stare downs sine she was more alpha then her and would always win.
My favorite part has to be where Tessa figures out how deep her and Dastien’s relationship is when she tries to beat up Meredith when she rubs his back and she goes into extreme jealous! It was great!
I give this book a 3 really great read and the series great better and better as you go!
Dastien also made number one on my top 5 Book Boyfriends of the Month! Check it out!
Until next time! Read on and enjoy!

Monster (A Cassidy Edwards Novel: Book 1l) by Carmen Caine.
“Revenge. It’s all I’ve lived for. Revenge against those who stacked the cards against me from the start. But I’m changing the deck now. I’m getting even. Born to a vampire, I wasn’t supposed to survive—but I did.
My name is Cassidy. Cassidy Edwards. And I’m the first of my kind.
Trapping a sixteenth-century Scottish Highlander of a vampire who just might be seduction itself.
A firedrake with an attitude, a werewolf with a problem, and an imp in dire need of rehab.
A dangerously powerful warlock as handsome as sin.
My Problem: Bluffing my way into a job, my first mission into the Charmed world opens a Pandora’s box of betrayal and secrets … along with attractions of the most lethal kind. ”
Cassidy set out on her to figure out what she is. She knows that she wasn’t suppose to have survived when her mother turned into a vampire but she did. After 6 years of searching for answers she still doesn’t know much about this super natural world she lives in and is no where near finding Emilio. That all changes when she was in the mall just looking for a feeding. She chose the wrong man, or the right man it depends on how you look at it. Now, she is completely emerged into this whole super natural world and acting like she knows what she’s doing and knows what’s going on when really she has no clue. Throw in and imp named rick who is in rehab and is constantly getting into mischief well that just makes everything better.
Cassidy has her hands full with trying to help Lucian get his revenge of Dorian and his clan of vampires, learning more about herself, Ricky who is constantly causing her trouble, Tabitha who seems to out to get her, and fighting her strong attraction to Lucian her boss. But it will all be wroth if she can just keep her secrets and make it to the end of this job so she herself can get her revenge, although she discovers she’s not the only one keeping secrets.
This was a really Great read. I love the interaction between Lucian and Cassidy. They both feel a pull to be together but fight it so hard. I want to say more but I don’t want to spoil anything for you guys. But don’t worry you will get a kissing scene I’ll let you know that much.
Ricky oh that little imp made this book! he made me laugh at the situation he put Cassidy in. Although he did try to help her out a lot, but it didn’t always work out. Then there was the little problem of him always getting into the spice cupboard and getting drunk to the point where he was useless to her.
I give this book a 4 Stars and one thumbs up! Get read and it’s a KindleUnlimited.
Until Next time! Read On and Enjoy!

This is one great action packed book series and bonus the fourth book comes out October 16, doubly bonus it’s a KindleUnlimited Series! Check out book 1 Chase the Dark book review here.
- Quaid from the Hayle Coven Series By Patti Larsen. Quiad may take some warming up to for Syd but that’s just because he is detrimed to not like her because he has been told for years that they will be married. I don’t blame him. Quid screams bad boy and is really powerful if you like a good bad boy this is the book for you!
- Ryan from the Ghost in My Bedroom by is a different kind of book boyfriend because well he’s dead. Ryan is a Ghost but that doesn’t mean you won’t fall in love with this boy who has Haunted Lucy’s room since before she was born. in dismay he watched as they painted his old room pink for her.
