Viper’s Creed

Viper’s Creed (The Cat’s Eye Chronicles Book 2) by T. L Shreffler

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 1! Sora’s Quest book review HERE!

vipers creed Sora’s back! It’s been a year since she’s last seen Crash and Burn, but after having a vision come to her in her sleep she sets off after them. She has to stop Volcrain, the wolfy blood mage, and the evil plague that is spreading. She sets off with the sacred weapon Crash gave to her with a note “For the first time I felt fear.” and was on her way. On the way she makes a new friend, Laina, and takes her under her wing. She learns that she is apart of this bandit group called the Ravens. The Ravens are now after Laina because she’s left them. After fighting for her life she finds Crash and Burn. They start off to Barcella to speak with the High Priestess. Once there she finds much evidence of the Plague. The High Priestess doesn’t give her the news she wants. The fact that Crash brought up about having to break the bond with her cat’s eye is proven true. Now they are off to the Lost Isles for it is the only place they’ll be able to kill Volcrain once and for all. They are traveling to the port city of Delbar but on they run into the trouble with the Ravens and it’s bad because they need up with the Scared weapon.

Will they get it back? Will Sora find the other Scared Weapons? Who are the Shade? Are Crash and Sora growing closer? Can they find a way to get to the Lost Isles? and why does everyone keep calling Crash the Dark One?

Okay, I’ve say this every time I review one of Shreffler’s books but they are all just so well written! I love them! I eat them up! I can’t wait for book 5 to come out! PLEASE BE SOON! In this book we find that Crash and Burn have decided to back track and that’s why Sora finds them so quickly. we meet a new character Laina. The girl is a little annoying but she brings a new element to the book. I love how the distance between Sora and Crash has changed in this book. They are much closer in this book and hey it helps that she doesn’t seen him as her kidnapper anymore. We do get to see a really sweet moment between the two as well! Of course it’s after a fight but at least they make up. We also get to meet a new race: The Bracken.

Okay so I have to say my favorite part of the book is when Sora’s about to take a bath! It’s great! I also like the part where they make up after their fight!

I give this book 4 stars ****

This is a must read!

Until next time. Read on and Enjoy!

Hope(less) (Book 1 Judgement of Six) by Melissa Haag

Gabby has always been able to tell the location of the people around her. She can do this because she sparks around people. Always the same color. Yellow center and dark-green halo. It was never different excepted for her own. She had an orange halo. She also had this strange affect on men. They always seem to hit on her like they couldn’t help themselves. Even though she’s a minor. She has never seen another color of spark until she meant Samuel Riedel, a werewolf. He had a pale blue light with a bright green halo.

After getting to know Sam she moves in with him. he is like a grandfather to her and she needed somewhere to go since her foster parents were about to have a child of their own and wouldn’t have the space for her anymore. Gabby tries to find answers in the werewolf packed and has come up empty. Sam keeps setting up Introductions for her. They are trying to mate her to a werewolf and she wants no part of it.

She’s finished high school and can’t wait to go to college when Sam sets up one last Introduction. There are so many werewolves that there isn’t room in the introduction room. Gabby paces back and forth in front of them hoping that she doesn’t have a connection with any of them. She’s walked back in forth in front of the line countless times and she starts to feel hope when she meets the eyes of a dirty wild-looking man in the doorway. Her world comes crashing down because she has formed a connection with this man, werewolf.

The werewolf’s name is Clay and as she tries to leave she discovers him taking apart the engine to Sam’s truck. She tries to run away but he just brings her right back. Finally she’s back home for the summer and hasn’t seen Clay since they left the compound. She has hope that he forgot about her, but she was wrong.

On the day she moves in with her roommate a huge dog shows up with a tag that says Clay. Now she’s trying to navigate college with her pull and a werewolf who won’t even talk to her. And on top of that other wolves are showing up with a different spark color trying to fight Clay for her. Clay may be silent but he is worming his way into her heart and she doesn’t know how she feels about it.

What are these sparks she sees? What is happening to her pull? Who are these different colored sparks? Will she claim Clay? Will Clay ever speak?!?!

I loved this book! Its a book I’ve read more then once and I’m sure you all will enjoy it. Clay is a silent but sexy man. He cares so much for Gabby and has made My Top 5 Book Boyfriends List for a reason. I think my favorite part of this book is when they share their first kiss and then is promptly stopped when Gabby sees his bruises.

I give this book 4 stars ****!

I hope you enjoy it! If you liked this post please Like it!

Until next time! Read on and enjoy!

Book Series 1

Bookworm Problems.

bwp waiting

I don’t know about to guys but I feel like I’m Reading way too many book series at once. Then I’m either waiting for the next book to come out or waiting until next month because I’m already over my book budget. And then I’m staring at all the book series I’ve started and want to finish but have to decide which books I’m going to buy only to have my heart broken and aching for more knowing I still have another book or more to read. But knowing I have to wait until I can buy more.

And while I wait of course I read Free books and become addicted to more book series. It’s a never ending cycle. I try to stick to Kindle Unlimited book as much as possible to keep from breaking the bank too much but sometimes I end up buying those books because they are too good not to own. I usually do this when I see they are on sale for 99cents.

I’ve have SO many Series that I’m waiting for the next book to come out and it kills me. Before I got my kindle I told myself that I wouldn’t read a book from a series until ALL the books were out so I wouldn’t have to wait. That went out the window the WEEK I got my kindle and discovered all these wonder free books. I can now read all that I want! I became an addict very fast. To the point where my husband would take my kindle from me and make me watch a movie with him. Then I got a smart phone and I had the wonderful kindle app (Cue heavenly music) AHHH!

Now, I find myself reading a book sometimes two a day. I got a big problem and I know  will never stop. I have a planner and follow all my favorite authors on Facebook just so I can know when the next book will come out or even just little glimpses or the next book.

I find myself at the end of each month planning my book budget. I look to see what book I’ve preordered or have to buy that month and then picking which other series I’ll be buy the next book for and seeing how much I have leftover incase I find a new book I want to read or find I must read the next book in that series. My budget is usually finished right at the start of the month.

Series we love to hate them, But the love out ways the hate. ALWAYS! We only hate the budgets we have to set and waiting a year before the next book comes out. So can’t wait until Christmas so I can get my gift card.

Until next time! Enjoy and read on!

Clean Sweep

Clean Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles Book 1) by Ilona Andrews

clean sweep

“On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. But Dina is…different: Her broom is a deadly weapon; her Inn is magic and thinks for itself. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight. Under the circumstances, “normal” is a bit of a stretch for Dina.

And now, something with wicked claws and deepwater teeth has begun to hunt at night….Feeling responsible for her neighbors, Dina decides to get involved. Before long, she has to juggle dealing with the annoyingly attractive, ex-military, new neighbor, Sean Evans—an alpha-strain werewolf—and the equally arresting cosmic vampire soldier, Arland, while trying to keep her inn and its guests safe. But the enemy she’s facing is unlike anything she’s ever encountered before. It’s smart, vicious, and lethal, and putting herself between this creature and her neighbors might just cost her everything.”

Okay, I’ll be honest when I first read it I was like I don’t know it doesn’t sound that good. But I read it because I needed a book that was coming out this month and the second book was coming out. I’m really glad that I read this book! It is so good it’s becoming one of my new favorite series. I love the characters and this whole world. It’s a different look at the paranormal world we all love to read about so much.

Dina is an Innkeeper and she has one guest who is paid up permanently. An Innkeeper’s job is to protect her guest and provide a haven for those whom are stopping on earth before continuing on to their next destination. Dina’s hope is to one day turn her Inn into a place where many will come to stay in hopes of them seeing the picture of her mother and father and find someone who knows where they are because they and their Inn have disappeared without a trace. Right now, her Inn is ranked at 2 Stars so she doesn’t get many guests so having Caldenia stay at her Inn is very important.

The scenes between Dina and Sean crack me up! I really love the part at the beginning of the book where she catches him peeing on one of her apple trees.

Chapter 1 Page 13

“Sean Evans! I see you. Stop marking your territory on my apple tree.”

“Don’t worry,” he said without turning. “It won’t hurt the apples.”

Oh, that’s just the beginning of their bickering that you’ll just fall in love with. Sean is an Alpha Werewolf and is very protective over Dina and his territory. He doesn’t know much about the world he came from or the other worlds out there. He doesn’t even know who or what Dina is, but they both team up together to protect their neighborhood and territory from these stalker creatures attacking the dogs in the neighborhood before they start attacking the people. They soon discover there is more to these stalkers then originally thought bring a handsome Vampire to her Inn. Causing tension with Sean who doesn’t trust him.

This is a really good read and makes you wish you could have your own Alpha wolf of you own. This book was written blog post by blog post. So once it was posted there was no going back and changing things. I love how it turned out. Check out Ilona’s blog here.

I give this book 3 and a half stars.

Until next time! Read on and Enjoy!

Hey Everyone!

Hey guys! Sorry I’m behind on my posting. I was suppose to of had my Clean Sweep Review up Last week but a different one posted and I didn’t even have the cover of the book up embarrassing! But I’ve been super busy because my baby girl turned one this weekend! Yes, I know crazy that’s she is now ONE!!! I was busy making her a cake and cleaning house because I’m hosting Thanksgiving and with a baby it’s hard to get any cleaning done. I’m lucky if I remember to get the clothes out of the washer the same day I put them in, which reminds me that I have a load sitting in the washer from yesterday… 🙁 … oh well it’ll be fine.

Then yesterday we had to get Raylie’s year shots! 6 of them plus we had to get her blood drawn. she did really well getting her blood draw I tried to distracted her but putting to the duck on the nurses nametag but she could have cared less. She just watched them didn’t cry and move at all! Proud mommy!

Then for the hard part the shots. She did okay for the first two and then she was like forget this and let out her screams! I felt so bad and felt bad that daddy had to hold her even though she wanted mommy because I had to get a flu mist. First time I got mist and not a shot, they were out of the shots and only had the mist. (My hubs had to get the shot a few weeks ago because they had no mist. He was mad and complained about his arm for DAYS!) So I rubbed it in that I was getting the mist.

But now I am sooo sick! I’ve never been this sick after getting the shot before but my hubs was so I guess it’s just what’s in the shot this year but I’m miserable along with my poor baby girl! She didn’t want to wake up this morning. I was shocked that she let me sleep in usually she’s up at 6:30 or 7 she slept until 9:30 because I woke up her up. I felt horrible because that means she almost 18 hours without meds. She didn’t feel good at all. I just nursed her gave her meds fed her breakfast and then after a few snuggles put her to bed. She went right back to sleep until lunch.

I was going to get a lot of cleaning done but all I got done was the dishes. I’ll try to get my blog all organized tomorrow but right now I just wanna go and take a nap!

Until next time! Read on and don’t get sick!

Morgan 🙂

PS. I tried to post a few of my favorite pictures from Raylie’s birthday but it’s not letting me. Check them out on my Facebook page.

The Kiss of Deception

The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles book 1) by Mary E. Pearson

the Kiss of DeceptionI loved this book! I’ve been wanting to read it for awhile now. It’s been on my to read list for a few months. But being on a book budget like I am you have to wait to read books. My husband is always getting mad at my for reading books that aren’t KindleUnlimited but he just doesn’t understand!

Arabella or Lia, as she likes to be called, is a princess and we start the day of her wedding. She was laying on a table naked getting her wedding kavah. She was going through all the motions of the day little did everyone know she was planning on running away with her friend Pauline back to her hometown. Lia didn’t want to marry some old man for a treaty. She wanted to be loved. Not just married off because she was a princess and a first daughter. First Daughters are said to be born with The Gift but Lia has never had it even though her parents claim she did.

Lia covers her tracks well going out of her to make it difficult for anyone to find her. What she doesn’t know is that not only will her fathers men be looking for her but the prince himself and an assassin from Venda.

Lia finds happiness being a barmaid in Terravin with Pauline at Berdi’s Inn. Lia was working hard and finally enjoying life. She’s getting more responsibility now that Berdi trust her more she gets to serve more tables now and one of her tables is taking by two men who she doesn’t know yet but will make a big impact on her life.

After 3 weeks following her tracks and backtracking both the prince and assassin find the Inn she’s working at. Both are mad at how long it took them to follow her tracks. The assassin is trying to figure out how to kill her now that she sent him on quite a chase and the prince is furious at how long it took him to find all her clues, like her wedding dress, her wedding cloak, and the jewels they had traded.

The men seem captivated by her the both of them. And Lia herself finds herself attracted to both Rafe and Kaden. Kaden has warm eyes that seem to be hiding something and Rafe seems challenging and cool towards her but there are times when he has such tenderness in his eyes.

But a prince and a assassin aren’t the only things she needs to worry about. Before she left she had stolen something from the Scholar and Chancellor. Now, they’ve sent a bounty hunter after her to retrieve it with her dead or alive. The boys help her the first time but the they won’t just stop.

Now, someone is pregnant and her brother loses someone very dear to them both because Venda are attacking. They are stronger then they have ever been and Lia knows she has to go back home and fulfil her duty and marry not for love, even though she has found it in the small town of Terravin.

She leaves for home with Pauline but doesn’t make it very far the assassin stops her and is taking her to Venda claiming she has The Gift to save her life. It’s a long journey to Venda and Lia learns a lot on it. She learns how to open her gift and she learns how to read the book she had stolen from the Scholar and Chancellor, and what it says shocks her to her core.

The prince if looking for Lia after learning that she was kidnapped by Venda will he be able to save her? Does he love her? Does she love him or the assassin who is trying to save her life?

This book will keep you guessing! Mary E. Pearson is very sneaky! I can’t wait to start reading the second book but sadly I will have to wait until Christmas when I get a bunch of amazon gift cards. I love this book I think one of my favorite parts is when Lia and Rafe are picking blackberries. Just a boy and a girl picking blackberries.

I give this book 5 stars. It is a must read! In fact the next time I do a must read list The Kiss of Deception will be on it!

I hope you enjoyed this review! If you want to more about what I thought about it with SPOILERS like my Facebook page!

Until next time! Read on and enjoy!
